Inspiring Vision: Basilica Cistern
“The true strength of our leadership lies in the depth of our character.”
The Basilica Cistern in Istanbul, Turkey (known in Turkish as Yerebatan Sarnıcı) is one of the most fascinating historical sites in Istanbul. It was originally built during the Byzantine Empire era to store water for the Great Palace. Today, it stands as a testament to the architectural and engineering prowess of ancient times, drawing visitors to walk on raised platforms above the water, marveling at the 336 marble columns lit by dim, reflected light and the serene, almost otherworldly atmosphere.
